Work-Based Learning
WBL is a type of job training that combines on-the-job and classroom instruction.
Comprehensive WBL programs contain three key components: the alignment of classroom and workplace learning; application of academic, technical, and employability skills in a work setting; and support from classroom or workplace mentors.
Some of the activities used in the programs to help the student are job shadowing, career related workshops, attendance at job fairs and trade shows, and business tours.
This whole process depends upon the collaboration of employers and the educational staff of high schools, community colleges, and universities.
